Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 1 year of ER experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a hospital Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
  • Level I and Level II Trauma Center setting
  • 12-hour night shifts (3x12), 19:00-07:00
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

  • Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
  • Preferred experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, Level I and Level II Trauma Center settings
  • Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  • Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care/management
  • Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs
  • Experience managing continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and triage protocols

  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to consideration

  • Prior permanent, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Returning travelers who previously cancelled or were not approved to return must complete one assignment outside the health system before reapplying
