Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 1 year of ER experience and GA or Compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in a hospital Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
  • General Emergency Department at a Level I and Level II Trauma Center
  • 12-hour night shift schedule (3x12, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
  • Weekend rotation required every other weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
  • Community hospital and teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Level I and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care/management
  • Experience starting and maintaining IVs
  • Experience administering continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and triage protocols
  • Two supervisory references (Manager or above) preferred at time of consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a Level I and Level II Trauma Center setting
  • Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of complex emergency cases
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to starting the assignment

  • Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Returning travelers who were previously unable to complete an assignment must complete one successful assignment outside of Piedmont before rebooking
