Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of ER experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

• Combined Adult/Pediatric General Emergency Department setting
• Level II Trauma Center that is STEMI and Stroke Certified
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 11:00 to 23:00
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• 2 weekend shifts required per contract
• Epic charting system used and experience required
• Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs

Requirements

• Active KS or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in managing trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and arterial line management
• Experience obtaining and interpreting 12-lead EKGs and managing dysrhythmias
• Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic trauma care

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care for a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and behavioral health crises
• Manage patients requiring procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, and emergency medications
• Perform splinting and other orthopedic trauma interventions
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff must have separated from employment for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
