Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring an SC or compact RN license and 2 years of ER experience.

Details

  • Acute care hospital Emergency Department serving a combined adult/pediatric patient population
  • 286 staffed bed facility
  • Patient ratios based on acuity
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7p-7a)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Floating required within scope to meet facility and department needs, including sister facilities
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
  • AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
  • Preferred certifications: CPI and TNCC
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Skills in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
  • Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a range of patient acuities including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
  • Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified
  • Support may include care for gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, spinal cord injuries, and head injuries
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • First-time travelers accepted, provided they have emergency room experience
  • Block scheduling is not guaranteed but may be requested for approval prior to assignment
  • Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to qualify for the standard travel rate; local candidates may be considered case-by-case at a reduced rate
  • During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response duties
  • All time-off requests must be submitted at time of application for consideration
