Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of emergency room experience and an active SC or Compact RN license.

Details

  • Acute care hospital emergency department setting with 286 staffed beds
  • Patient ratios based on acuity, with a typical 1:4 ratio
  • Works 3x12-hour night shifts (7p-7a)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required to meet facility and departmental needs, including sister facilities
  • Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

  • Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience required
  • Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
  • Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management required
  • Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE required
  • Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a combined general adult/pediatric ED population
  • May treat cases involving trauma, shock, gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and orthopedic injuries
  • May care for pediatric emergencies including head injury, near drowning, and spinal cord injury
  • Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified center
  • First-time travelers accepted, provided they have prior emergency room experience
  • Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius to be prioritized for this position; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have been separated from the system for at least one year before returning as a travelers
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application for consideration
  • During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams as part of facility operations
