Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
• Community hospital setting
• STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• TNCC certification preferred
• Military-issued certifications accepted, AHA preferred, ARC not accepted
• Proficiency managing trauma, shock, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of emergency medications
• Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic splinting
• State-issued ID, SSN, and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Manage a wide range of emergency conditions including trauma, cardiac events, stroke, respiratory distress, and psychiatric crises
• Provide care for pediatric and adult patients including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, seizures, and infections
• Perform procedures such as EKG interpretation, splint application, and management of ventilated or intubated patients
• Administer and monitor continuous IV medications, vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Identify and report signs of neglect or abuse
• Local candidates within 90 miles are accepted at a lower rate
• RTO limited to 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request allowed during Nov-Jan
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role
