Travel RN Job Details

• Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• End Date: February 8, 2027
• Location: Amarillo, Texas
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,550–$1,630
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 3:00 p.m.–3:00 a.m.; 36- or 48-hour options may be available
• Healthcare Setting: 49-bed Emergency Department with approximately 165 patient visits per day
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: Provided onsite

Emergency Room Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas or a valid compact license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Current PALS or NRP certification
• Epic electronic health record charting experience required
• Clinical experience caring for patients ranging from infants and children to adults and older adults
• Ability to float to units of equal or lesser acuity, with possible ICU support
• Availability to work weekends as scheduled
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and emergency response skills

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to patients presenting with a broad range of emergency conditions
• Perform triage, focused assessments, reassessments, and ongoing patient monitoring
• Care for ventilated patients and manage patients requiring isolation precautions and personal protective equipment
• Provide central line care and management
• Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with emergency providers, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
• Prioritize care in a busy Emergency Department while maintaining patient safety and service excellence
• Float to designated units when needed and support department operations during high-volume periods
