Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring a valid OK or compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting, treating a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Non-trauma general Emergency Department at a STEMI and stroke certified facility
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 18:45-07:15
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • EPIC charting system used for documentation
  • Floating to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs

Requirements

  • Valid OK or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS (NRP preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience preferred (less experience may be considered)
  • EPIC charting experience preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Skilled in emergency care across pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and trauma-related conditions

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care for a wide range of conditions including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and psychiatric emergencies
  • Manage IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial lines, and central line care as needed
  • Perform respiratory interventions such as BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • Administer emergency medications including IV vasopressors and procedural sedation
  • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and obtain 12-lead EKGs
  • Apply isolation precautions and PPE, and perform triage duties
  • Manage orthopedic trauma including splint application
  • Navy scrub color required
  • Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered for the travel position
  • Former permanent staff must have separated from employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • Travel pairs or groups will not be accepted
