Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level I Trauma Center position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

  • Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department with 36 rooms
  • 36-hour night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Prior charge nurse experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience managing continuous IV sedation and vasopressors preferred
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience in shock/trauma care including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputation
  • Pediatric emergency experience including head injury and near drowning preferred
  • Neurological trauma experience including CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
  • Orthopedic trauma experience preferred
  • Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and triage

Additional Information

  • Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified Level I Trauma Center
  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
  • Complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Complete onsite orientation modules (approximately 4-6 hours for RNs)
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
  • Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
