Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with travel experience and Epic charting for a night shift assignment in a general Emergency Department.

Details

  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
  • Non-trauma emergency department setting
  • Community hospital environment
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • 36 or 48 hour weekly option
  • 1:3 patient ratio
  • Epic EMR charting required

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care/management
  • Experience starting and maintaining IVs
  • Respiratory care experience, including care of ventilated patients
  • Experience with IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation preferred
  • Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring
  • Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Orthopedic and neurological patient care experience, including ortho trauma and spinal cord injury preferred
  • Experience with head injury and near drowning cases preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care in a STEMI and Stroke certified facility
  • No travel pairs or groups accepted
  • First-time travelers may be considered if minimum experience requirements are met
  • Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Not open to candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties
  • All requested RTO must be listed at time of consideration
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
