Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a busy, non-trauma Emergency Department requiring prior travel experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

  • Work in a large, high-acuity, non-trauma General Emergency Department serving adolescents through geriatric patients
  • 59-bed ER averaging 165-175 patients per day
  • 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Stroke and STEMI certified facility
  • Evening shift, 3x12 hours (1:00 PM - 1:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
  • Rare floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR (required) and Pyxis medication system
  • Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
  • SANE and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required, with at least 2-3 completed ER travel contracts preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in emergency care for conditions including CVA, respiratory distress, cardiac dysrhythmias, and psychiatric emergencies
  • Proficient in IV therapy, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and ABG interpretation

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions, including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
  • Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response interventions
  • Manage patients requiring isolation precautions and PPE
  • Apply splints and assist with orthopedic trauma care as needed
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per contract
  • RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Full compliance required prior to start date to avoid scheduling delays
