Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ER Holding position requiring an active MA RN license and 2 years of telemetry experience.

Details

• Work in the ER Holding unit providing care to ER surge/overflow patients
• Stationed in the ED, floating to different areas within the ED as needed to manage overflow/surge patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00 with some scheduling flexibility based on departmental need
• EOW/EOH weekend requirement
• 36 hours per week over a 13-week assignment
• Uses Epic for charting
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• 2+ years of telemetry experience required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac) preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with PCA medication management preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to ER overflow and surge patients across multiple ED areas
• Must pass two pass/fail exams during orientation: a medication exam and a telemetry exam, each with only one attempt allowed
• Failure to pass either exam results in immediate contract cancellation
• Study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews (FDIs)
• RTO not approved on 12/24, 12/25, or 12/31 due to unit staffing needs
• Facility allows coverage for only 1 of the 3 major upcoming holidays as RTO
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside within a 200-mile radius for consideration
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Candidates with a 12-month separation from the health system are eligible to return
• Must be able to start on the posted start date with no flexibility for alternate dates
