Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER Float RN with an active AZ or compact RN license and TNCC certification for a night shift position floating between multiple emergency department locations.

Details

• Acute care Emergency Room setting floating between several satellite ER locations in the West Valley area (Laveen, Goodyear, Camelback, Mesa, Glendale, Surprise)
• Schedules are made in advance so travelers know which location they will report to
• One of only two RNs on staff at satellite locations
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1
• Uses Cerner EMR
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Vent capable unit
• Lab draws performed by ER staff, no IV team support
• Floor-specific orientation provided

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• TNCC certification required (CPI preferred but not required)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (maximum of 2 attempts)
• Must pass a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation covering Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

• Provide emergency department nursing care while floating between multiple satellite ER locations as needed
• COVID vaccine declination accepted for medical or religious reasons
• Scrub color required: Galaxy Blue
• Study guides provided for dysrhythmia exam preparation prior to first day
• Additional first-day training includes lifts, restraints, and wound care education
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates previously employed directly (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI and Dignity, within the past year are not eligible
