Description

American Traveler is hiring a Charge RN for a busy Emergency Department requiring 2+ years of ER experience and prior charge experience at a Critical Access Hospital.

Details

  • Emergency Department at a Critical Access Hospital equipped with modern, state-of-the-art technology
  • Access to TeleEmergency, TelePsych, and TeleNeonatal services via DHMC
  • Supported by ED technicians and helicopter trauma transport services (DHART and LifeFlight of Maine)
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM-7:00 AM, Friday/Saturday/Sunday, 36 hours per week
  • Every weekend work required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required to Med/Surg and Stepdown units, approximately 60% ED and 40% charge/backup duties

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NH or Compact)
  • Minimum 2 years of current Emergency Room experience required
  • Previous Charge RN experience required
  • Experience working in a Critical Access Hospital highly preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience highly preferred
  • Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and TNCC
  • Emergency Room skills checklist required for consideration
  • One supervisory signed reference from the past year of employment required

Additional Information

  • Serve as Charge RN, providing backup support to both Emergency Department and Med/Surg units
  • Willingness to accept Stepdown patients and assist with Med/Surg patients required
  • Local candidates not accepted; permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility
  • Housing in the area may be limited, so candidates are encouraged to research options in advance
  • Maximum of 5 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed
