The unit offers 8 or 10-hour shifts. The team will start with roughly 10 people and can grow to 16, including a mix of techs and RNs. Patient ratios are 1:1. The type of equipment used includes EMR systems such as Merge, Meditech, and Claris. Candidates without the required skill set will not be considered for this role. Preferred candidates will have structural heart experience. Typical procedures performed in this unit include all EP ablations (such as afib, aflutter, VT/PVC) and all EP devices (including PPM, ICD, and loop implants). The dress code requires navy scrubs provided by the hospital due to the sterile environment.
