Description

American Traveler is seeking an Endoscopy RN with at least 3 years of ENDO experience and recent pediatric, bronchoscopy, and Cerner experience for a 13-week hospital assignment.

Details

  • Endoscopy unit in a short-term acute care hospital setting
  • Handles both pediatric (0 months-18 years) and adult patient populations, with pediatric cases scheduled Monday through Thursday
  • 1:1 patient ratio with pre/post and intraprocedural care
  • Performs Upper & Lower GI, Bronchoscopy, EBUS, ERCP, EUS, and pain management procedures
  • Day shift, 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM-5:00 PM
  • Block schedule available for 4 consecutive days (Mon-Fri or Mon-Wed and Fri)
  • On-call required: one Monday-Thursday shift (1700-0530) weekly and one weekend shift (Friday 1700-Monday 0530) every 6 weeks
  • Floating to PACU required as needed to meet facility needs
  • Cerner charting system required; Provation experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start (no pending licenses accepted)
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • Minimum 3 years of ENDO experience required
  • Pediatric, bronchoscopy, and Cerner experience required within the last 2 years
  • Must be willing and able to scrub/tech as needed on the unit
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in administering and monitoring conscious sedation
  • Experience with equipment including balloon dilators, bronchoscopy cart/supplies, electrosurgical units, ERBE, forceps, and polyp snares
  • Proficient in starting/maintaining IVs, medication administration, and 12-lead EKG/ECG
  • 2 supervisor references required
  • Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE required
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide pre-procedure, intraprocedural, and post-procedure care including conscious sedation recovery and monitored anesthesia care sedation recovery
  • Perform specimen handling and labeling
  • Scrubs provided by facility
  • Free parking available
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates from Indiana are not accepted for this position
  • Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
