Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring NY licensure and proficiency in advanced endoscopic procedures such as ERCP and EUS.

Details

  • Endoscopy unit at a hospital, handling procedural-based cases including pancreatic, lung, colon, and gastric CA, polyps, Barrett's esophagus, and CBD stones/strictures
  • Performs and supports specialized procedures such as EUS, ERCP, Navigational Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Manometry, and Fibroscan
  • Utilizes specialized equipment including ERBE, Olympus scopes/processors, Super-D, Bravo, VCE, and Manometry
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with varying days off based on department needs
  • On-call responsibilities approximately 4-6 shifts per month covering weeknights, weekends, and holidays
  • Floating required to PreAnesthesia/PACU as needed

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required in hand
  • BLS and ACLS certification required; CGRN certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
  • Competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in administering and monitoring conscious sedation, airway management, and post-procedure recovery care
  • Experience with EKG/ECG, IV starts, and medication administration including opioid analgesics, reversal agents, and Versed

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure care, specimen handling/labeling, and management of dysrhythmias
  • Works across inpatient, outpatient endoscopy center, and portable/bedside travel case settings
  • Navy/white scrubs required
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Previous employees may only return after a 6-month system-wide waiting period
