Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring 2 years of experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a high-volume endoscopy unit averaging 45-65 cases daily across 8 procedure rooms
  • Care for both inpatient and outpatient GI procedure cases
  • Perform a range of procedures from basic EGDs and colonoscopies to complex interventional cases such as ERCP, EUS, POEM, and cystgastrostomy
  • Collaborate with in-unit respiratory therapists who assist with bronchoscopies and GI techs who support procedures
  • Cases are supported by an in-house anesthesia group
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (7:30 AM - 3:30 PM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of GI/Endoscopy experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience administering and monitoring conscious sedation
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with specimen handling and labeling
  • Experience circulating for GI procedures including colonoscopy and EGD
  • Experience with pre/post-procedure and post-procedure conscious sedation recovery
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care for a wide range of GI and interventional endoscopy procedures
  • Assist with recovery and monitoring of patients following conscious sedation
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to submission
  • Holiday coverage required based on the number of major holidays falling within the assignment period, with limited holiday RTO consideration only when three holidays occur during the assignment
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Candidates with prior employment history at the facility must have been away for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Full compliance required by set deadlines to avoid start date delays
