Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Endoscopy position requiring advanced procedure experience and an active OK or Compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Endoscopy unit performing Pre-op/PACU/Procedure care
  • General and advanced endoscopy procedures including ERCP, EUS, ION, and Bronchoscopy
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Uses Van Gogh, ION, Cryo, and other advanced endoscopy scopes and equipment
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (6:45 AM - 3:15 PM)
  • Call requirement of 2 weekends per month (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
  • Option to pick up extra shifts 2 days per week
  • Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs

Requirements

  • Active OK or Compact RN license required at time of submission
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
  • Charge or board running experience preferred
  • Experience administering and monitoring conscious sedation preferred
  • Experience with airway management and recovery from conscious/monitored anesthesia care sedation preferred
  • Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs and obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG preferred
  • Experience with medication administration including opioid analgesics, Propofol, reversal agents, and Versed preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Perform circulating and scrub duties for procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD, bronchoscopy, EBUS, EUS, ERCP, esophageal varices banding, and sclerotherapy
  • Work across inpatient, outpatient endoscopy center, and portable/bedside travel case settings
  • Handle specimen collection and labeling as part of procedural responsibilities
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered for the travel rate
  • Former staff members must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
