Description
Prepare and set up procedure rooms according to the scheduled cases and gastroenterologist preferences.
Gather appropriate instrumentation, supplies, and equipment for each procedure.
Anticipate the needs of the gastroenterologist and assist during procedures.
Handle, label, and prepare specimens correctly and accurately.
Perform manual cleaning of scopes and contaminated instruments post-procedure per facility policy.
Conduct high-level disinfection or sterilization of endoscopic equipment according to protocol.
Perform quality assurance testing and maintain scope washer logs as required.
Troubleshoot endoscopic and washer equipment; report any malfunctions or repair needs promptly.
Assist in room turnover, including cleaning beds, lights, and removing used linen and trash.
