Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in a coastal region of Central California. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care in a busy emergency department, including triage, treatment, and discharge procedures for a diverse patient population ranging from newborns to geriatrics. The position is represented by CNA and offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on acute patient care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, working 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; one year of recent acute care experience; valid RN license in the state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 6 months of hire or transfer; facility-specific BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience with Cerner system.

  • Additional Information: Must complete accurate triage assessments on all patients and notify the emergency attending physician of any abnormal signs, symptoms, or vital signs 100% of the time. Responsible for timely review and completion of patient orders, patient education, and recognition of symptoms indicating cardiac or respiratory distress. Competent in medication administration, IV therapy, care of indwelling catheters, and use of critical care medical equipment. Demonstrates proficiency in interpreting ECG rhythms, managing Code Blue and trauma activations, and ensuring safety and quality control checks are performed regularly.
