Job Summary
The Emergency Room (ER) nursing position is located in a busy, fast-paced healthcare environment. The registered nurse (RN) must have strong experience in emergency care and the ability to manage a high volume of acuity patients efficiently. The role involves providing critical patient assessments and delivering high-quality care in a dynamic setting. The assignment is scheduled for 12-hour shifts, with a minimum weekly commitment of 36 hours, starting October 6, 2026, and ending January 3, 2027.
Job Details
- Shift: 12 hours rotating start times: 5:00 AM, 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM. Candidates will work each specified shift, and the position will be offered through interview and management review.
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a California licensed registered nurse, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), at least two years of recent emergency nursing experience, proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system, excellent references, travel experience, and trauma or pediatrics experience are strongly preferred. Additional certifications such as Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and 3-5 years of ER experience are highly advantageous.
- Additional Information: The emergency department handles a daily census of approximately 190-200 patients, with rapid patient turnover and occasional inpatient admissions. Nurses are expected to perform triage at the bedside and handle high-acuity cases efficiently. Critical thinking skills are essential to operate effectively in this environment. The patient demographic is generally well-educated and vocal about the quality of care, emphasizing the importance of nursing excellence and patient experience.
