Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) registered nurse position in an urban healthcare facility. The role involves providing advanced emergency care to diverse patient populations, including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The RN will be responsible for managing a caseload in a busy ER environment, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols, and supporting interdisciplinary teams.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The position is scheduled to start on 10/27/2026 and end on 01/26/2027.
- Required Qualifications: Valid California RN license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Stroke Certified Facility, Traumatic Brain Injury experience, and at least 2 years of direct Emergency Department (ED) experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Cardiac (CPR), Neuro-Trauma, and the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS, SANE, TNCC.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years ED experience, with background in patient management for various acute conditions such as trauma, stroke, and respiratory emergencies.
- Patient Population: Adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics.
- Unit Details: Daily census of approximately 60 patients; 15 rooms; 17 beds; interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries.
- Additional Information: Candidates must have prior travel experience within the last 12 months, possess a BSN degree, and be willing to float to other UCSF campuses within a 75+ mile radius if needed. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster is mandatory at submission, with documentation attached.
