Job Summary
Emergency Room Nurse, ER Specialty, located in an acute care facility. This role involves providing critical care to trauma and emergency patients in a fast-paced environment. The position requires skilled assessment, intervention, and collaboration to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, with weekend rotations and no call.
- Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications, and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course). A minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency or critical care settings is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with electronic charting systems, medication dispensing systems, and cardiac monitors.
- Responsibilities include performing IV starts and infusions, Foley catheter insertions and care, Nasogastric tube care, feeding tube infusions, telemetry monitoring, and head-to-toe assessments for both medical/surgical and emergency patients.
- Equipment utilized in the unit includes computerized charting in Epic, Omnicell medication dispensing system, Plum A+ IV pumps, and Philips cardiac monitors and telemetry.
- The unit comprises 19 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio typically of 1:4 or less, up to 1:5 on nights.
- Nurses will float between medical/surgical and emergency room units and will undergo one week of orientation.
- Candidate must badge in and out at the facility, adhere to the dress code (navy scrubs top and bottom), and have valid licensure to submit.
