Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Practitioner opportunity available in a fast-paced emergency department at a healthcare facility. This role involves rotating night and evening shifts, with an emphasis on providing urgent care across all age groups including infants through geriatrics. The position requires adaptability to a variety of complex diagnoses and high acuity settings.
Job Details
- Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 shifts; rotating night/evening shifts (19:00-07:30 / 15:00-03:30)
- Certifications: Active Maryland or Compact State Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and CPI certification (completed during onboarding)
- Required Qualifications: 0 years of experience; valid RN license; experience with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5; proficiency with Epic charting system; experience in community hospital or similar fast-paced emergency setting; certifications listed above
- Patient Age Range: All age groups from neonates to geriatrics
- Patient Diagnoses: Across all systems, including complex cases such as trauma, strokes, respiratory, and cardiac emergencies
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Holidays: As scheduled, including major holidays during winter season
- Floating: Will be required to float within the ED specialty and affiliated sister facilities as needed
- On-Call: Pre-scheduled on-call shifts are not required
- Additional Information: Successful candidates must complete onboarding documentation within five days prior to start date and complete necessary modules; must be comfortable floating across multiple facilities as part of operational needs
