Job Summary
Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) Nights. This role provides care for patients ranging from newborns to older adults, including critically ill patients, cardiac arrest, stroke, heart attack, and trauma cases. The position supports a high-acuity emergency department environment with 12-hour night shifts.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or TNS certification; minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: At least 1 prior travel assignment; Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Registered Nurse experience; experience in a teaching hospital; proficiency with vasopressor, cardiac, and antihypertensive drips and titration.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, typically 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and holiday coverage may be required based on departmental needs.
- Additional Information: The role provides care in a Level 1 trauma emergency department with patient assignments generally ranging from 1:3 to 1:5 based on acuity. Responsibilities may include caring for patients with a wide range of medical and traumatic conditions, interpreting and responding to cardiac rhythms, drawing laboratory specimens, troubleshooting respiratory equipment, and caring for stabilized trauma patients after transfer from the trauma bay. Float rotation may be required.
