Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a CA license for a 15-week day shift contract requiring at least 2 years of ER experience.

Details

  • Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department in a hospital setting
  • Non-trauma ED with STEMI and Stroke certified facility status
  • Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-7:30)
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Every other weekend required
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active California RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: NIHSS, OCN, TNCC
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
  • Proficient in starting and maintaining IVs and phlebotomy
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration
  • Knowledge of CVA, ICP monitoring, and neuro-trauma care including spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries
  • Experience managing ortho-trauma, head injuries, near drowning, and traumatic amputations
  • Skilled in CPAP/BiPAP management and interpretation of ABGs
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
  • Level I and II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • References required for consideration
  • Copies of required certifications must be submitted for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Manage a range of high-acuity cases including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, and trauma-related emergencies
  • Must pass an onsite advanced EKG exam (80% or higher) prior to starting, with only one attempt allowed onsite
  • Complete required clinical and non-clinical training modules prior to start, varying by specialty
  • No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 3 RTO days for the remainder of the contract
  • Must be willing to work holidays
  • All time off requests must be submitted with the initial application and cannot be changed except to cancel
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous employees may be considered on a case-by-case basis
