Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in Puyallup, WA This position involves providing high-quality emergency care within a Level III Trauma Center. The role requires managing a diverse patient population from pediatrics to geriatrics, with a focus on trauma, STEMI, stroke, and other high-acuity medical cases. The ER nurse will be part of a team dedicated to delivering fast-paced, team-oriented patient care.
Job Details
- Position Description: Emergency Room (ER) Nurse with experience in a Level III Trauma Center, responsible for managing acute trauma, cardiac, stroke, COVID, mental health, and respiratory cases.
- Required Qualifications: ER experience, BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB certifications, recent Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience, IV skills, cardiac rhythm interpretation, support on the unit including glucose checks and splinting.
- Schedule: Nights shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Orientation includes badge and Epic training, meet with educator, mental health area hours, and out front hours. Second-day shift includes preceptor support. Telemetry competency required.
- Support on the Unit: ER tech glucose checks, support staff including social work, pharmacy, security, and support staff assigned 24/7 to the ED.
- Charting System/Equipment: Epic recent experience required, Pyxis, Alaris, Telemetry monitoring.
- Floating: None.
- Orientation: 1st day includes badge, Epic training, and mental health area; 2nd day involves a 12-hour shift with a preceptor.
- Scheduling: Work schedule provided 3 weeks in advance, with flexibility depending on staffing needs.
- Other Notes: Travel is for an approximately 3-month assignment starting 11/02/2026, ending 02/06/2027. No language about facility or hospital names, only generic descriptors are used.
