Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a Critical Access facility is responsible for providing acute patient care in a fast-paced environment, including trauma, stroke, STEMI, respiratory, and various medical-surgical conditions. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and adherence to clinical protocols.
Job Details
- Position Description: Emergency Room Nurse with ER experience preferred; responsible for delivering advanced patient care for trauma, stroke, chest pains, respiratory conditions, pediatric to geriatric populations, and short-term swing bed patients.
- Certifications and Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications are required. Must hold an active license to practice as a nurse and have a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience.
- Schedule: Nights shift; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Must have ER experience. The department manages a patient ratio of 1:3-4 in the ER and 1:5 in medical-surgical units. Will float between ER, medical-surgical, and swing bed units. Shifts may include self-scheduling and every other weekend. RTO (Leave) requests must be made upfront with a 7-day notice; no additional RTO will be approved once assigned. Candidates must comply with radius and employment restrictions related to associated health system facilities.
- Submission Requirements: Valid license to submit.
- Shift and operational notes: Will handle common drips such as Heparin and Levophed. Must be able to interpret telemetry strips and work effectively under pressure, with attributes including teamwork, communication, flexibility, and adaptability.
