The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a dynamic, trauma level II facility within a busy emergency department. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, managing a diverse patient population including pediatrics, geriatrics, and neuro cases. This contract opportunity offers rotation shifts and requires flexibility to float to other nearby locations.

  • Location: 333 PINE RIDGE BLVD, WAUSAU, WI 54401
  • Position: Emergency Room RN (ER RN)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks, starting 08/24/2026
  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, variable days/evenings, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: WI Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Minimum of 2 years of experience, trauma level II experience required. Prior travel experience preferred; if no prior travel, 2 years of trauma ICU or ER experience required. Epic charting experience and charting proficiency are mandatory.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to other locations including Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley
  • Additional Information: The ER unit features 18 beds, stroke certification, cardiac, neuro, pediatric, geriatrics, and respiratory care. RNs are responsible for drawing labs (in-house), nebulizer treatments, and operating Pyxis medication dispensers. RT staff and on-site x-ray are available. Candidates must be resilient, adaptable to change, and able to work independently. Scrub colors are flexible, and vaccination compliance during flu season is mandatory with mask-wearing if declined vaccination.
