Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Location: Not Specified. This position involves providing critical care in a busy emergency department with a patient capacity of approximately 25-30 patients per day. The role requires delivering high-quality emergency services across the lifespan, from newborns to geriatric patients, in a trauma level IV and stroke-ready facility.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule is issued in 6-week blocks, with no shift work within 24 hours of each other.
- Required Qualifications: Valid certifications including BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, and TNCC. Must have a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.
- Additional Qualifications: Experience in a critical access emergency department preferred, with strong practical skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Competency in triage and de-escalation skills is essential.
- Responsibilities: Managing acuity-variable cases, utilizing advanced medical equipment such as Vents and BiPap, and performing clinical interventions including EKGs and lab draws. RNs are required to read their own telemetry strips and assist with patient transport during stroke activations.
- Clinical Environment: The ER features 10 beds and 2 trauma bays, with a dedicated seclusion room. Staffing includes one provider in-house 24/7, CNA/Tech support in the afternoons/evenings, and RT staff during daytime hours, with on-call RT services at night.
- Operational Notes: Self-scheduling and float requirements are not part of the assignment. Competency-based orientation lasts up to 4 shifts.
