Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Location: Region One. This position involves providing emergency care at a busy, comprehensive ER with a focus on trauma, STEMI, and stroke patients. The role requires a versatile and team-oriented healthcare professional to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

  • Position Description:
    Responsible for delivering critical emergency services in a Level 3 trauma center with a capacity for 17 beds, expandable to 22. Candidates will review clinical profiles and participate in interviews. The ER handles an average of 66 patients daily, with a focus on stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, psychosis, and behavioral health cases.

  • Required Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent, valid nursing license, 1 year of experience in emergency nursing, certifications including BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and the ability to work nights shift, 12 hours, and a minimum of 36 hours per week. Clinical experience must include behavioral health and managing common drips such as insulin, cardiac, sedation, and critical care drips.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    Prior travel experience and familiarity with the electronic medical record system EPIC are preferred; candidates with previous assignments in similar settings are encouraged to apply.

  • Additional Information:
    The ER operates 24/7 with in-house security, RT (respiratory therapy) services, and monitor techs. Staff must be adaptable to various start times, work every other weekend, and some holidays. Orientation includes a 12-hour shift with an experienced ER RN. No call or standby is required; floating is not scheduled but may be required if necessary.
