Schedule

Night shift is required, working 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 - 07:30. Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) is mandatory.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment, including those in a locked Behavioral Health unit. Successful candidates will be responsible for managing patient assessments, delivering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:4 - 1:6, depending on unit and patient needs.
• Float as required between various units, including urgent care and critical care environments.
• Provide emergency interventions and manage care for diverse patient populations across all age groups.
• Support locked Behavioral Health units, collaborating with a security team to maintain a safe environment.
• Participate in stroke care management as the hospital maintains a Primary Stroke Center status.
• Utilize Cerner charting system effectively for patient documentation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department experience; 2 years in Level I or II trauma may be considered.
• Valid RN license in Maryland or a compact state required upon submission.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS are mandatory. CEN certification is preferred.
• Experience in precepting and training is preferred.
