Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Night Shift Location: Not Specified. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a busy trauma and acute care environment. The role requires managing a diverse patient population with urgent and critical health issues, including cardiac, stroke, sepsis, respiratory, and mental health conditions, within a dedicated ER setting.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Active ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in large trauma settings. Valid license to practice as an ER Nurse.
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The ER handles approximately 170-200 patients per day, with a patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4. A separate triage area with 5 beds, 18 beds designated for holding inpatients, and 6 private treatment rooms for mental health cases are available. The department staff manage their own ER holds, with inpatient staff floating as needed. Staff must be able to draw blood, assist with rapid assessments, and operate EPIC electronic medical records. The department maintains a trauma level care setting and requires adherence to all department policies and training.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC.
- Shifts & Scheduling: Based on department needs for contracted shift, existing patterns built for traveler schedules. No requested RTO during the first full week of assignment.
- Additional Requirements: No call or standby shifts, orientation includes a departmental compliance and training day plus a second day of department-specific orientation. No float requirements beyond department needs.
