Job Summary:
Emergency Room registered nurse (RN) position scheduled for the night shift at a rural critical access facility in Chewelah, Washington. The role involves providing immediate care to a diverse patient population, including neonates, geriatrics, and pediatrics, with a daily census of 10-15. The position requires adaptability in unit needs, with potential shift fluctuations to day hours, and offers opportunities to work across multiple specialties within the emergency department setting.

- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Washington or Compact registered nurse (RN) license, minimum of 1 year of experience, certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). Community hospital experience and charting experience using Epic are preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, patient ratio experience (minimum 4), and experience with trauma level I or II situations are highly desirable.
- Additional Information: The role involves float between units as needed, managing complex emergency situations such as trauma, respiratory emergencies, and pediatric cases. Candidates must be comfortable with procedures including intubation, IV management, and interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias. Emergency department skills such as procedural sedation, psychiatric holds, and stroke certification are valued. The position requires strong primary nurse skills in a rural ED setting and adherence to medical and safety protocols.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates should be prepared to confirm prior experience with Providence facilities if applicable, provide two recent references, and list the last four digits of their Social Security Number at submittal. All scheduling requests and potential RTO (reasons to be out of schedule) must be requested upfront as post-submission approvals may not be granted.
