Emergency Room Specialty Humble, TX. This position supports pediatric emergency care in a freestanding emergency setting, providing assessment and treatment for patients with varying acuity levels. The role requires strong intravenous skills, electrocardiogram skills, triage acuity training, and collaboration within a flexible, team-oriented environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications; intravenous skills; electrocardiogram skills; triage acuity training.
- Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Emergency Nursing Course (ENPC) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training.
- Additional Information:
- Provides care for pediatric emergency patients with assignments based on acuity, including typical ratios of 4:1 and 1:1 when clinically indicated.
- Responsibilities may include onsite laboratory collection, influenza, COVID-19, and streptococcal testing, intravenous placement, Foley catheter placement, electrocardiograms, and moderate sedation.
- The care team includes registered nurses and nursing technicians across day, mid, and night shifts.
- Weekend coverage rotates or includes four weekend days per schedule.
- Royal blue scrubs are required.
- Candidates should demonstrate teamwork and flexibility with assignments.
