Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Location: Not Specified. This position involves providing acute care in a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department. The ER nurse will deliver high-quality patient care across trauma, burn, and pediatric cases, ensuring compliance with clinical standards and supporting a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Certifications; at least 2 years of ER experience; valid nursing license; willingness to pass the DYS exam prior to acceptance; must have a minimum of 6 months Trauma Level 1 experience; location requirements with 50-mile radius rule; valid drivers license; ability to pass a pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation.
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The role involves floating between multiple facilities, including emergency departments and freestanding emergency rooms, with orientation consisting of 2-3 shifts on the specific unit. Candidates must complete SIMs lab assessments for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, demonstrating sterile technique competence. Experience in managing trauma, burns, and pediatric transfers preferred.
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
- Preferred Certifications: TNCC and ATCN.
- Additional notes: CHARTING SYSTEM: Cerner. The hospital maintains a minimum of two MDs on-site, with midlevels and RTs available around the clock, and pharmacy services available 24/7. The unit accommodates acute trauma and subacute cases, with a focus on maintaining sterile and sterile field practices.
