Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse position available in a Level 3 Trauma facility. This assignment involves providing high-quality emergency care within a fast-paced environment, adhering to clinical standards and hospital policies. The role offers an opportunity to demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, and expert clinical skills in emergency nursing.
Job Details:
- Location: Carlsbad
- Schedule: Days shift, 9:00 AM 9:00 PM; floating required
- Shift Hours: 12 hours per shift
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours

- Required Qualifications:
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC
- Education: Nursing Degree
- Experience: 2 years in emergency nursing or similar specialty
- Additional Requirements: Fingerprints for all New Mexico travelers are required; must have the ability to float within the nurse's scope and experience; ICU float is typically required if needed; valid license to practice in the state

- Patient ratio: 4:1
- Blocked scheduling is not approved
- 48-hour guarantees are not approved
- RTO blackout dates include 1 summer and 1 winter unless otherwise specified; only one RTO per schedule allowed, with a 6-week scheduling window
- Scrub color: Full uniform, any color scrubs
- EMR system: MedHost (EDIS)
- The nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering patient care in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. Critical thinking, clinical judgment, and leadership are essential.
- Knowledge of nursing process, assessment, medication administration, safety standards, infection control, and documentation are required.
