Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Nights Located at an acute care hospital, the ER nurse will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position involves managing adult and pediatric patients, performing advanced procedures, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver quality care during night shifts.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license in the state of practice or eligibility, 2 years of ER experience, certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS are required. CPI and TNCC certifications are preferred. American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines followed for certifications.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level I or II experience, experience with advanced procedures such as arterial lines and chest tubes, and proficiency in electronic charting systems.
  • Float: Float within scope to meet department needs; may float between designated facilities and unit floors if needed.
  • Additional Information: The ER handles a daily census of approximately 150 patients across adult and pediatric populations. Procedures include insertion of central and arterial lines, intubations, code response (strokes, STEMIs, blue team), and management of trauma, mental health, and sexual assault cases. Equipment used includes bedside cardiac monitors, ultrasound, hypothermia device, and rapid infuser. Certification compliance deadline is 3:00 PM CST on the Monday before the start date.
