Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a Level III Trauma, STEMI Receiving, and Stroke Center located in a healthcare facility. This position involves providing urgent and emergency care to a diverse patient population, including pediatrics, cardiac, trauma, and medical-surgical cases, in a fast-paced environment with a high patient turnover.

Job Details

  • Position Description:
    Conduct clinical prescreens and assist in triage for emergency patients. The ER handles an average of 70 patients daily, with patient ratios of 1:3-4 depending on acuity. The unit includes 18 beds and four critical rooms, with in-house 24/7 security and a dedicated triage area.
  • Required Qualifications:
    Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN), with at least 2 years of ER experience, valid BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certifications. Candidates must have passed the advanced dysrhythmia test (83%) before signing the contract.
  • Schedule:
    12-hour night shifts, starting at 6:45 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shifts may include weekends, holidays, and be scheduled via a matrix system to accommodate traveler needs.
  • Additional Information:
    May be asked to precept and assist with patient care duties related to emergent conditions, including monitoring and troubleshooting ventilators and cardiac telemetry strips. The unit prefers travelers to extend their assignments and maintains a cancellation policy allowing up to four shifts for 13-week assignments.
