Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN requiring 2 years of ED experience in a large trauma center and an active FL or compact RN license.

Details

  • ER unit day shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30 with every other weekend required
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 4:1 or 5:1 depending on assigned area
  • Cares for Level 1 trauma patients independently in the Trauma Bay
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active FL or compact RN license required in hand
  • BLS and ACLS certification via AHA required
  • TNCC and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience in a 30-bed or larger, preferably Level 1 trauma center
  • Degree from an accredited school or FBON-approved institution, plus 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months
  • Must pass a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review
  • Must pass Basic Arrhythmia assessment with 100% on lethal rhythms and 83% or greater on all other sections

Additional Information

  • Functions independently to provide emergency care across varying acuity levels including trauma cases
  • Smoke-free facility
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius accepted at a lower rate than travel positions
  • Former Broward Health permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools are not accepted
  • Must complete required lab work within 72 hours of signing
