Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a community hospital setting. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care across a variety of medical conditions, with a focus on stability, rapid assessment, and trauma management. The ER is staffed with dedicated professionals and requires flexibility to float between units as needed.
Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, a minimum of 36 hours per week

- Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), a minimum of three years of experience in emergency nursing, ability to obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, start and maintain IV lines, and administer emergency medications.
- Responsibilities: Manage patients with respiratory conditions, sepsis, trauma, neurological complaints, behavioral health emergencies, and common medical complaints such as hypertension, dehydration, UTI, flu, and COVID-19. Perform procedures including blood draws, intubation, medication administration, and patient stabilization.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in community hospital ER, trauma level I or II experience, proficiency with Epic charting system, and prior float experience within emergency departments.
- Additional Information: Willingness to float to all community hospital ER units. No on-call requirement. Must adhere to hospital policies, including maximum RTO of 7 days and compliance deadlines. Candidate must be at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible.
