Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Corpus Christi, TX. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a Level II trauma hospital. The role requires skilled assessment, documentation, medication administration, and other clinical procedures within a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), minimum 2 years of emergency department experience, Texas licensed or willing to obtain licensure.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) or TCRN (Trauma Certified Registered Nurse), CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification, more than two years of ER experience.
  • Typical Procedures: Patient assessments, medication administration, wound care, splinting, IV insertions, lab draws, urine collection, care for ESI (Emergency Severity Index) levels 5 through 1.
  • Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs preferred; team jerseys for Sunday team spirit.
  • Unit Guidelines/Policies: Mandatory shift huddles at 7am and 7pm; EMTALA training required.
