Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse position is available in a high-acuity emergency department located in a medical center with a capacity of 22 beds and a team of 55 staff members. This role involves working nights, with a focus on providing urgent care and specialized procedures within a fast-paced environment. The ER nurse will deliver critical patient assessments, manage trauma and cardiac alert cases, and coordinate emergency interventions.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a high-acuity setting; current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (TNCC preferred); strong triage and critical thinking skills; experience with trauma and cardiac alert cases, including STEMI, stroke, and sepsis patients.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Meditech documentation system; bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
- Responsibilities: IV insertion, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, wound care, moderate sedation, assisting with intubation, CPR, rapid sequence intubation, code response, patient transport coordination, triage assessment, infection control, and documentation.
- Additional Information: Must be team-oriented, punctual, reliable, compassionate, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. No on-call requirement; two weekends per schedule needed.
