Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position requiring FL or compact license, prior travel experience, and Level 1 resuscitation patient care background.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a 210-bed acute care hospital
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Weekend rotation required every other weekend
  • Floating required within scope of practice
  • Uses Meditech charting system

Requirements

  • Active FL or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (TNCC and SANE preferred)
  • Minimum 2.5 years of ED experience required
  • 1 year of neuro/stroke experience required
  • 2 previous travel assignments required
  • Experience with Level 1 resuscitation patients required
  • Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care
  • Experience managing psychiatric patients, acute psychosis, and violent behavior preferred
  • Ortho trauma and splinting skills preferred
  • Neuro-trauma and CVA management experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of cases including trauma, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies
  • Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified center
  • Scrubs may be any color; no tee shirts, sweatshirts, or logos from other organizations permitted
  • Free parking available in any unrestricted space
  • Holiday coverage required; if 1-2 holidays fall within the assignment, must work 1 evening shift and 1 holiday, if 3 holidays fall within the assignment, must work 1 evening shift and 2 holidays
  • RTO limited to no more than 10 days and requires an additional 2 weeks added to the assignment, with no RTO permitted during the first or last week
  • Must reside more than 30 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel position
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
