Cardioversion, defibrillation, and EKG interpretation skills are essential. Experience in managing cardiac arrest and chest pain management is required. Candidates should be skilled in pulses and circulation checks, STEMI, hyper/hypoglycemia, and blood sugar management. Intra-osseous placement and infusion, starting and maintaining IVs, and phlebotomy are necessary skills. Knowledge of emergency medications, including Narcan, is expected. The approach to managing violent behavior is critical for this role. Ability to provide critical care transport and perform basic airway management is required. Experience with restraint application and trauma management is preferred. Clinicians will not float to other facilities or departments. Weekend coverage is required, working every other weekend. No local candidates within a 100-mile radius will be considered. Travelers who have worked multiple consecutive assignments must adhere to a break policy. Modules may be required and recorded for ongoing education. The work environment is a smoke-free facility with no designated smoking areas. Compliance with facility policies is mandatory.
