Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring TNCC and De-Escalation certifications in addition to standard ED credentials.

Details

  • Emergency Care unit (ECC) within a hospital setting
  • Very high acuity unit with heavy volume of stroke, cardiovascular, diabetes, wound, behavioral health, and sepsis cases
  • Some trauma cases seen, though unit is not trauma-designated
  • Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Full-time, 13-week assignment

Requirements

  • Active RN license in state of employment or compact (LA or compact license required)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications via AHA
  • Current TNCC certification required
  • Current De-Escalation certification required
  • BSN preferred
  • 1 year of experience in Emergency Department nursing preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care utilizing the full nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
  • Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
  • Provide patient and family education based on identified learning needs
  • All newly hired experienced RNs attend New Nurse Orientation within first 30 days of hire
  • New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with completion of entry and ED-specific competency validations
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
  • Previous CHRISTUS employees (non-travel) must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment within the CHRISTUS Health System
