Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NM or compact RN license and 2 years of ED experience.

Details

  • Level III trauma center emergency department with 48 beds plus flex space
  • Patient ratios of 4:1 in the main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
  • Patient population includes ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric cases
  • Uses Zoll defibrillators, Level One blood transfusers, QinFlow blood warmers, Hospira Plum360 pumps, Freestyle and iStat POC devices, and ultrasound guided IV equipment
  • Cerner EHR system used
  • Night shift schedule from 7p to 7a
  • Minimum of two weekends per schedule required
  • No call requirements
  • No floating requirements
  • Team nursing and pod system with a dedicated social worker and unit educator

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC, and ENPC (AHA accredited)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with ED experience preferred
  • ADN required for RN education
  • Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation required

Additional Information

  • Treat common diagnoses including ESRD, substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain
  • Provide emergency care within a Level III trauma center that receives Level I, II, and III trauma cases via air transport
  • Work alongside an Interim ED Manager and Clinical Coordinator for unit support
