- Floating: Yes, as needed during low census
Job Requirements
- Active New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred, with Emergency Department experience highly valued
- BLS certification from AHA required
- ACLS certification from AHA required
- PALS certification from AHA required
- TNCC or ATCN required
- CPI or equivalent preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to remain calm in a fast-moving acute care environment
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, efficient, and patient-centered care in a busy Emergency Department and acute care setting
- Complete initial assessments, establish priorities, and respond quickly to changing patient needs
- Reassess patients regularly and modify the plan of care based on clinical progress and outcomes
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans within established standards of care
- Administer timely interventions, document care accurately, and support discharge planning and patient education
- Perform Point of Care testing and other unit-based clinical procedures as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, staff, patients, and families to support positive outcomes and a respectful care environment
- Assist with unit coordination, team assignments, and orientation of new staff or students when needed
- Support a professional, positive, and flexible work environment while maintaining patient safety and quality standards
