Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring a VA or compact RN license and prior ER experience.

Details

  • Emergency Department unit with 34 beds
  • Serves all patient ages including geriatric, adult, and pediatric populations
  • Common diagnoses include chest pain, CHF, COPD, and psychiatric conditions
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Uses Medhost EHR system
  • Shift runs 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Call requirements as needed
  • Floating as needed

Requirements

  • Active VA or compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI/Handle with Care, NIH Stroke Scale, and PALS or ENPC
  • 1-2 years of Emergency Room experience required
  • Licensure/certifications required to work as an RN in Virginia

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to patients of all ages in a full-service acute-care hospital setting
  • Work in a department accredited for Chest Pain Center and Heart Failure care
  • Team environment supported by the Director of Emergency Services
  • Professional, positive, compassionate, and team-oriented personality valued
  • Scrubs of any color are acceptable; casual wear is not permitted
  • Random drug screening consent and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form required
  • Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
  • Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
  • Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
